Dilworth Rejoice. The Dilworth Tasting Room Opens Wednesday 1/11.

We know you’ve been driving by wondering….when on earth is Dilworth Billiards going to be finished transforming into its new self, the Dilworth Tasting Room?

Wonder no more. The grand opening is Wednesday, January 11th (at 300 East Tremont Ave) when Dilworth Tasting Room will open with a limited menu including a Baguette Truffled Cheese Melt, Cheese and Charcuterie Plates and Chocolate Bites and Truffles, plus 33 wines by the glass, 190 wines that can be purchased by bottle or for retail and 22 beers.

Even better for residents of the hood? They deliver AND they’ll soon be open for your am coffee. DTR also plans to offer wine and food delivery in the 30+ square block area (between Kenilworth Blvd., South Blvd., McDonald Ave., and East Blvd.), with no minimum order necessary. (That’s crazy-talk). And starting hopefully in late March, DTR will open in the morning to serve an assortment of pastries and coffee roasted by Stumptown Coffee.

New owner Jaffer Kovic has gone to significant lengths to preserve the integrity and history of the original space and build on the reputation that the building has had for the past 35 years. Dilworth Tasting Room retains some of the charming features of the “Billiards”~ the exposed brick has been left untouched ~ but adds beautiful new elements. The columns are constructed with mahogany, carriage bolts and angle iron. The bar is made of copper steel and mahogany, seats 17-18 people, and is one of a kind with stunning details of metal work and wooded detail. And DTR’s courtyard is sure to become one of Charlotte’s new favorite patios, with its coppertop bar.
